In the first quarter of 2022, the Food and Drink category on Android in Costa Rica saw significant activity among the top five applications. Here’s a breakdown of their performance based on data from Sensor Tower.

DiDi Food: Express Delivery experienced a notable trend in weekly downloads, peaking at approximately 51K in the week of January 31. However, downloads saw a decline towards the end of the quarter, reaching around 14K by the last week of March. Weekly active users also showed an upward trend initially, peaking at about 168K by January 31, but gradually declined to roughly 139K by the end of March.

PedidosYa - Delivery Online maintained a consistent performance throughout the quarter. Weekly downloads saw a gradual increase, starting from about 9.7K at the beginning of January and reaching approximately 16.7K by mid-March. Active users followed a similar pattern, starting at around 112K and peaking at approximately 145K in mid-March before stabilizing around 142K by the end of the quarter.

Uber Eats: Food Delivery showed varied weekly download trends, initially peaking at around 6.7K in mid-February and fluctuating between 4.9K and 6.8K for the rest of the quarter. Active users showed a downward trend from around 113K at the start of January to about 82K by the end of March.

McDonald's Offers and Delivery saw a peak in weekly downloads at around 9.4K by the end of January, followed by a decline to approximately 2.4K by the end of March. Active users showed a significant increase from roughly 25K at the start of January to about 32.8K by the end of the month, then gradually decreased to around 22.4K by the end of the quarter.

Taco App CR had a steady performance in weekly downloads, ranging between 2.9K and 4.4K throughout the quarter. Active users showed a consistent increase, starting at around 12.8K at the beginning of January and reaching approximately 16.8K by the end of March.
